Black jack or 21 as it is known has been a very popular game for many years in casinos and online, most people think that ina games of blackjack you have to make 21 with the cards you are dealt where really it just depends on what the dealer has because the aim of the game is to beat whatever the dealer has this can be by getting 21 on the first two cards if you have say eighteen and the dealer has seven teen then you win also if the dealer goes over 21 then he is bust and you win, with some casino sites you can get the option of what is called a five card trick where if you have five cards that equal to less than 21 then its an automatic win, so can win with a hand of twelve and lose with a hand of twenty it all depends on what the dealer has.
The true origins of blackjack is thought to have come from french games like chemin de fer and french ferme that were developed in french casinos during the 1700s and was called vingt et un translated twenty and one and has been played in the united states since the eraly 1800s.
The name blackjack was formed because in the original rules if a player recieved the ace of spades and the jack of spades as their first two cards, the player received and extra bonus payout, and with spades being black and the jack being a vital card the game blackjack was formed.
Here are some basic rules to follow
The early surrender, is usually used in situations where you have taken a hit and you have a 15 or 16 in your hand with this you can either give up or surrender half your bet before the dealer has shown his hand at any casino. the late surrender is similar to the above where you give up half your bet after you have taken one or more cards before the dealer has shown their cards fully.
blackjack paid at 2-1 only really reduces the casinos edge by 3 percent roughly of which isnt found that often. Double after split can be very helpful to players.
Resplit of aces this will allow the player to save a split ace hand by splitting again, this also applies to other splits as well.
some helpful hints.
You never split with fives, if you get dealt aces or eights its recomended you split, you should double if dealt an 11 unless the dealer is showing an ace, you should never really take insurance, if you get dealt more than 13 and the dealer is showing 2 to 6 never hit, if you have 12 to 16 and the dealer is showng 7 to ace you should hit.
